Privacy Policy
Effective October 30, 2026
In short: the Deskfold app does not collect, store or share any of your data. Everything stays on your Mac. If you buy Deskfold on this website, we get your name and email from the purchase so we can send you your download.
What the app collects
Nothing. Deskfold has no accounts, no analytics, no advertising and no crash reporting, and it makes no network connections.
What stays on your Mac
To show your folders, Deskfold saves a small settings file on your Mac. It contains your folder names, colours, the apps in each folder and your layout choices. This file lives inside Deskfold's own app container. It is never sent anywhere, and deleting Deskfold removes it.
Apps you add to folders
Deskfold reads the names and icons of apps installed on your Mac so it can show them in folders and launch them when you click. It only reads apps you choose or drag in, plus your Applications folder when building starter folders. It does not look inside your documents.
Open at login
If you turn on "Open Deskfold at login", Deskfold registers itself with macOS so it starts when you log in. You can turn this off at any time in Deskfold's Settings or in System Settings › General › Login Items.
Third parties in the app
Deskfold includes no third-party code that collects data.
Buying on the Mac App Store
The purchase is handled by Apple under Apple's own privacy policy. We receive no personal information about you.
Buying on deskfold.app
Payment is handled by Stripe and sold through Link, Stripe's checkout, under Stripe's privacy policy. We never see your full card number. From each purchase we receive your name, email address, billing address and what you bought. We use them to:
- send you an email with your download link, and send it again if you ask for it,
- check that a download link belongs to a real purchase,
- answer your support emails, handle refunds and keep the records the law requires for sales and taxes.
Download emails are sent through our email provider, Resend. We don't sell your information, send marketing emails or share it with anyone else. Purchase records are kept as long as tax and accounting rules require. To see or delete what we hold about you, email us.
This website
deskfold.app is served by Cloudflare. It uses no cookies, no analytics and no ads. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes your IP address to deliver pages and protect against abuse.
Children
The Deskfold app collects no data from anyone, including children.
Changes
If this policy ever changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
